The Mountain Valley Playhouse (MVP) is a community theatre non-profit. We create community through theatre in the city of Scottsboro and Jackson County.

Mission:

We strive to create community participation in enriching theatrical experiences. While offering quality entertainment, we also celebrate the essential power of theatre to highlight and express our common humanity.

Winter 2023

'Twas the Night Before Christmas by Clement Clarke Moore

Directed by Jessica Sisco and Kadee Bell

A live narration of the beloved Christmas book acted out by Emily Mejia, Bagheera Sisco, Lilly Walker, Jonah Brown, Greyson Warren, Joah Dovers, Ruby Roden, Daniel Earwood, William Moore, Ada Brown, Riley Staggs, Emma Johnson, Lexi Brooks, Averitt Sisco, Harper Dovers, Ellie Bordner, Evan Van Der Westhuizen, Carson Johnson, Drake Warren, Avery Brooks, Lucas Morgan and Tallula Sisco. 'Twas the Night Before Christmas was one of our children's shows.

Fall 2023

Not My Cup of Tea by Albert Groff

Directed by Traci Phillips

Not My Cup of Tea, written by Albert Groff, was a comical show about three older women: Mother (Lee Piskorz), Jessica (Misty Mcdermott, Jessica Heal*), and Emmie (Allison Fredrick, Hannah Stahl*). Both Jessica and Emmie were plotting to kill Mother, but little did they know, Mother planned to poison them too. They all died in the end!

Briar Rose: The Tale of Sleeping Beauty by Stephen Hotchner

Directed by Traci Phillips

A comical adaptation of the fairytale Sleeping Beauty. This show featured Averitt Sisco (The King), Anna Fredrick (The Queen), Elissa Little (The Baker), Lilly Walker (Briar Rose), Bagheera Sisco (The Prince), Tyson Haynes (Two Headed Troll Head One, Doomed Prince Two), Ruby Roden (Two Headed Troll Head Two, Doomed Prince One), Anna Wallingsford (The Twelfth Fairy), Emily Mejia (The Thirteenth Fairy). Briar Rose: The Tale of Sleeping Beauty was one of our children's shows.
